Our Leaders
Apostle Willie E. Rookard and Lady Gerri Rookard have faithfully served Greater Bible Way Tabernacle Miracle Temple for decades with integrity, humility, and unwavering devotion to God. Apostle Rookard, ordained under the late Bishop Randolph “Hurricane” Jackson, has dedicated his life to preaching the Word, offering wise counsel, and shepherding both congregation and community with a heart for deliverance and restoration.
Serving faithfully alongside him for more than 50 years, Lady Rookard has worked in numerous areas of ministry with a prayerful spirit and gentle wisdom, never seeking recognition but always seeking God’s will. Together, they lead with compassion, strength, and a shared passion to see lives changed for the glory of God.
Our Founder’s Legacy
Greater Bible Way Tabernacle Miracle Temple was founded in the early 1960s as Bible Way Holiness Church under the leadership of the late Elder Randolph “Hurricane” Jackson and Mother Dorothy Jackson. What began as house-to-house prayer meetings quickly grew as the powerful presence of God drew standing-room-only crowds, with services often lasting past midnight.
The ministry later moved to a rented building on Daniel Morgan Avenue in Spartanburg, where attendance continued to grow. Led by faith and vision, Bishop Jackson took what he called a “Joshua walk” across the land where the church now stands. Despite challenges, construction began in the winter of 1965, and the first service was held in the spring of 1966. Many were healed, delivered, and filled with the Holy Ghost as the ministry flourished.
In September 1983, groundbreaking began for the present edifice, which was dedicated on November 2, 1991, with Apostle Lawrence G. Campbell officiating. In later years, the church name was changed to Greater Bible Way Tabernacle Miracle Temple by divine direction and unanimous agreement.
Bishop Randolph Jackson became a nationally known evangelist, affectionately called “Hurricane/Thunderbolt” Jackson. After his passing on October 31, 1999, leadership transitioned according to his wishes to District Elder Willie E. Rookard, now Apostle, who continues the vision of reaching Inman and surrounding communities with purpose-driven teaching and faith.
